About
WJO is an award-winning national NGO registered in Afghanistan.

Vision
WJO envisions a peaceful
Afghanistan governed by the rule of
law.

We are women-founded and women-led. We are independent, non-partisan, non-political and non-sectarian.

Our core service is to support and empower
women, girls and marginalized groups who are
affected by war and other forms of violence. We
do this by providing them with legal aid, peer support networks, mediation, protection assistance and essential psychosocial services.

In addition, to bridge the gap left after the brain drain in Afghanistan, we are
building the next generation of women to provide such services to women in the community. We do this through multiple advance practical trainings and fellowships for young students and graduates of law and sharia faculties.

In March 2021, WJO won a national award for its groundbreaking work.
